As we continue to navigate the waters of a pandemic, we increasingly recognise the importance of working in partnership and providing support to one another during these difficult times. Today, we wanted to highlight a perfect example of this as two of our partners, Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Services have teamed up to provide support to those most vulnerable and isolated in local communities.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service routinely engage with local communities through their community safety work and will identify individuals who may benefit from the “Scotland Against Coronavirus” kindness initiative by Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland. This initiative is aimed at helping vulnerable people stay safe and healthy at home with over 5000 kindness volunteer providing services such as kindness check in calls, deliveries of essentials, dog walking and more.
In return, Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland help share important fire safety messages and identify those who may benefit from a Home Fire Safety Visit.
